What items do I need to start practicing Kendo?
I know I need a shinai, I can buy one or two of those.. But the gear and stuff, what should I be looking for? And maybe a training video?
You need a dojo and a sensei/instructor. Kendo is not something that you can learn properly by yourself. Training videos do not have the ability to correct your form and show you properly what you should be doing. It may be okay to give you an indication of what it looks like, but thats really about it.
If you are serious about learning Kendo, find a dojo, and be willing to travel there on a regular basis to learn.
