I am thinking about buying a pair of Nike Bauer Flexlite 16 Senior Ice Hockey Skates, are they good skates?
I am playing competitively, probably anywhere from one to three times a week. with occasional weeks off. its just a mens league, i have played hockey all my life, and im just 19.
The Flexlite's are the same design/manufacturing process as Nike's Quest line from a few years back.
The Flexlite 16's are decent skates, but not as good as the NikeBauer Supreme 50's for the same price at hockeymonkey.com
I would generally recommend a little higher end skate that would provide a little more support and last longer but, it really depends on your intended use.
If you're skating once a week a few months out of the year, the Flexlite 16's will be fine. However, if you are on the ice 2-3 times a week for more than half the year, I'd invest in a little more beefy skate.
