hi... a question about judo, kung fu, muay thai ... and weight..!?
hello, I have joined judo classes a couple of weeks ago, but my instructor is giving very much importance to weight (which is just 50 in my case, with 5'8'' as hight) ... i'm genetically thin. I had been also planning to join a striking martial arts ... may be muay thai or kung fu ... which one will be better?..
and what (judo, kung fu, muay thai) will be good for me seeing my weight? I don't plan to go for competition, i want to learn for real life.
to study an art, weight does not matter, when fighting weight will make a difference, but not in the study.
and your judo instructor places importance on weight, because if your rolling around on the ground, or trying to put some one on their butt, weight will be either a help or a hindrance. a 190lb guy can put a 140lb guy on his ass much easier than the 140lb guy can put the 190 lb guy on his.(not saying that it can't be done, cuz it can, it's just a bit more difficult)
and it is up to you, and which you find more interesting, and which one you think you'll stick with.
